Terms of Use

Last updated: July 19, 2026

These terms cover how you may use SubnetSlinger, the app and this website, both made by AISMITH PDX LLC ("we," "us"). They're written plainly on purpose. By downloading, installing, or using SubnetSlinger, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use it.

Your license to use it

SubnetSlinger's free tier is free to use, and needs no account. A Pro license (a 30-day trial, then a one-time purchase) unlocks the rest of the tools for one person, on the machines you use. It's a license to use the software — you don't own the software itself.

Please don't resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app, share your license so others can avoid buying their own, or reverse-engineer, decompile, or try to defeat the licensing except where the law says you may. A Team license is governed by the plan you buy on the pricing page.

You're responsible for what you run

This is the important one. SubnetSlinger's tools do real things to real networks — a port scan, an SSH command, a discovery sweep, an SNMP query. Only point them at equipment you own or are explicitly authorized to test. Scanning or accessing systems you don't have permission for can violate policy or law, and that's on you, not us.

The app never changes a device's configuration or shuts a port on its own. When a tool helps you gather and confirm evidence, the enforcement action is yours to perform, on your gear — so verify the device, location, and exact port before you act. You are responsible for the commands you run and their consequences.

The AI features

The optional AI features (Deputy and Posse) are read-only helpers — they can read diagnostic output and answer questions, but they don't change your devices. Their answers and suggestions can be wrong or incomplete. Treat them as a starting point, not a guarantee, and verify anything before you act on it. AI runs only when you turn it on, using either a local model (Ollama) or your own cloud API key — your choice.

No warranty

SubnetSlinger is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its results will be complete or correct. You use it at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, or for network outages, misconfigurations, downtime, or damage to equipment — arising out of or related to your use of SubnetSlinger, however caused.

To the extent any liability is not excluded, our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the amount you actually paid us for your license in the twelve months before the claim — which, for a free-tier user, is zero. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Payments, trials, and refunds

Pro starts with a 30-day trial, then a one-time purchase (currently $499 for an individual seat; Team licensing is priced per seat, per year). Payments are handled by Stripe, or by the app store you bought through — we never see or store your card details.

Not happy with Pro? Email us within 14 days of your purchase and we'll refund it. We'd rather make it right — tell us what's wrong and we'll try — but if it's just not for you, you get your money back, and the license is switched off. Purchases made through an app store follow that store's own refund rules. Reach us at sheriff@subnetslinger.com.

Your account and data

Activating Pro means signing in with your email; we send a one-time code, not a password. What we collect and why is spelled out on the Privacy page. Your network findings live on your machine, not on our servers — there's no cloud sync, so keeping backups of your own work is up to you.

Third-party services

SubnetSlinger works with services run by others — Stripe (payments), Supabase (license storage), Anthropic or a local Ollama model (optional AI), and any MCP servers or devices you choose to connect. Those are your relationships with those providers, under their terms. We're not responsible for third-party services, or for anything you connect the app to.

Ending it

You can stop using SubnetSlinger and delete it at any time. We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these terms (for example, redistributing the software or using the tools against systems you're not authorized to touch). The disclaimers and liability limits above survive termination.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, note it in the app or on this site. Continuing to use SubnetSlinger after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Oregon.
