How many tools? — how SubnetSlinger counts

This build has 71 tools on Windows and 79 on Linux. Help ▸ About SubnetSlinger shows the number for the machine you're on. It's counted from the app's own tool list (never typed in by hand), the same way on every platform:

  • A tool is something you can pick by name and run to get its own result — a rail tile, or a tool inside a hub.
  • Hubs don't count themselves; each tool inside them does: Field Kit's 7 checks, Security's 4, Lab Testing's 4, and 10 Local server types.
  • A mode with its own name and result counts once (SNMP ▸ Walk, SSL / TLS ▸ Cert fleet, Drift ▸ Golden config); a switch inside one tool doesn't (Console's SSH / Telnet / Serial, Transfer's SFTP / SCP / TFTP, SNMP v2c / v3, Topology's L2 links).
  • A tool you can reach from the rail, Home, a menu and the palette still counts once. Tools folded into another count once, in their new home (Path map → Path ping ▸ Map, API → HTTP ▸ Auth check, DHCP lease → This machine, Quick console → Console ▸ Saved hosts).
  • Home, Docs, Account and MCP servers aren't tools.
  • Linux adds the 8 CLI wrappers (nmap, dig, curl, openssl, mtr, tcpdump …) — that hub ships on Linux only.

Counts vary by OS: macOS and the phone apps count the same way over their own tool lists, so their numbers differ. Anywhere a single number is quoted it rounds down — this build alone would be "70+" — never up.
