Result actions — what to do with a result

Under a tool's output sits the same row of actions everywhere:

  • Copy — the result to the clipboard, as the tool shows it, with known secret shapes masked.
  • Save as… — CSV or Markdown, to a file you choose. Known secret shapes are masked first.
  • Add to… (Ctrl+I) — appends the result to the active Case (diagnostic tools) or the active Project (Config Builder, Provisioning, Golden config, Multi-host run, Transfer). The button says which one. With nothing active it starts one for you; the ▾ menu lets you pick the other. Known secret shapes — passwords, keys, tokens, SNMP communities and device secrets in the forms the redactor recognises — are masked before anything is written.
  • Run a job on this — opens Jobs / Runbook with this host as the target. Nothing runs until you press Run.
  • Ask the Deputy — puts a short, masked summary of the result into the Deputy's box and opens it. It is never sent for you: you read it, edit it, and press Send yourself (that's the moment data goes to your AI provider).
  • Next-step chips — the obvious next tool for this result (a Discovery row → Port scan / Ping / Open in Topology / Save to Inventory; a traceroute hop → Path ping / WHOIS; an open port → HTTP / SSL / Console; an ARP row → MAC lookup / Wake-on-LAN / Save to Inventory; a DNS answer → Ping / SSL; a Monitor host → Traceroute / Add to Case). A chip opens the tool with the address filled in — it doesn't run it.
  • Device page — opens this host's Device page: its Inventory record, every tool's last result and every action. It only reads; it probes nothing.

On lists (Discovery hosts, ARP entries, traceroute hops, open ports, DNS answers, Monitor hosts …) a "Row…" picker in the bar aims the chips and "Run a job on this" at one row; with no row picked they use what you typed into the tool. Copy, Save as, Add to and Ask the Deputy always take the whole result.

On the free tier, Add to… (Ctrl+I), Save to Inventory (the chip and Discovery's toolbar button), Run a job on this and Device page are Pro: they carry a PRO badge and open the upgrade prompt (start the free 30-day trial). Copy, Save as, Ask the Deputy and the chips that open a free tool stay free.
